Motivating Hints

To help you along the way, here are some helpful hints from American Fundraising for getting volunteers, motivating your group, and involving parents in your fund raising campaign with AmericanFundraising.com.

Volunteers:

• Be straight forward on what task you are asking of your volunteers. Divide the work up into smaller tasks, and have volunteers sign up for ones they like.
• Always thank volunteers and do your best to show your appreciation. This will promote more help for your future fund raising programs.

Motivating Members:

• Aside from the reason you are holding this fundraiser; use prizes or small rewards to keep members motivated. You can request donations of such small prizes from local businesses, or cost free rewards such as a picnic lunch or a dance. Little incentives help motivate members and keep their focus on the cause of the fundraiser.

Involving Parents:

• Make sure parents are well informed of the fundraiser. Mail letters, emails, phone calls, and inform parents in person.
• Remind them of the brief meeting you will have to better inform them of the fundraiser the child should be part of.
• Remind parents that successful fundraising keeps their cost down, and allows your organization
to continue to provide fun and exciting experiences for their children.
